An award-winning broadcaster with 25 years of experience, Nathan has worked in all aspects of radio, TV and the advertising world as a writer, voice-over artist, presenter, MC and producer. In 2021 he took up the role as host of Radio New Zealand's early morning show, First Up, where he is first on the scene each day, dissecting news, current affairs and sports events before most of us have opened our eyes.
Nathan began his broadcasting career in High School, taking the midnight-dawn radio shift at 93FM. Since then, he’s logged over 10,000 hours of live and pre-recorded on-air experience, acquiring skills across the board, including copywriting and voice-overs. Nate has voiced countless advertising campaigns using his vast array of accents and is most capable of delivering scripts for both brand and retail. One of his most memorable voice jobs was delivering 12 unique character voices in the hit comedy animation series BroTown.
Having logged 1000s of hours of on-camera experience over the years, Nathan has become one of NZ's most popular presenters. He’s co-hosted Box Dog, ICE TV, Sportzah, and many TV3 sports shows. These days, you can find him filling in on Three as the 4th seat on The Project. Whether it's working scripted or ad-libbed; in studio or on location; live or pre-recorded, Nate is skilled in the role of anchor or as a panellist. Due to his extensive experience, he is a highly adaptable presenter - able to cope with last-minute changes. This adaptability and professionalism has carried over to his corporate work as an MC, where Nate has built a reputation of being easy to work with, possessing the ability to quickly 'read a room' and present at the appropriate mood and pace required.
He is skilled in reading and writing scripts, using an auto-cue, working with a roaming microphone, on-stage interviews and putting guests at ease on stage. MCing is an activity that Nathan thoroughly enjoys and excels at - always getting rave reviews from clients.
A self-confessed brilliant car singer (and gutted he didn’t start carpool karaoke before the Englishman), Nathan is all about teamwork, making things sound good, and people feel good.
