Melanie Kerr

Melanie is a trusted and well known face throughout the country. She was the effervescent host of the Good Morning Show advertorials for 7 years. Beaming into thousands of New Zealand homes every weekday morning.

Melanie grew up on dairy farms in Taneatua and Ruatoki and retains a love of the Eastern Bay of Plenty, her Turangawaewae. She now lives in beautiful Dunedin, where she and her family are restoring a 100-year-old home. Melanie loves classic cars and can often be seen cruising the streets in 'Marilyn' her 1964 220 fin-tail Mercedes.

Melanie has led an adventurous life. From working in the outback of Western Australia on a Gold Mine, driving trucks and running a 1.3-million-acre cattle station, to working as Puppy Development Manager for Guide Dog Services, a Polo Groom, Model, and an International Flight Attendant for Air New Zealand, Melanie’s career has been varied to say the least.

Outside of broadcasting, Melanie is one of the country's​ most experienced and respected Marriage and Funeral Celebrants. Her professional delivery has been built upon years in the broadcasting industry and is based upon her love of people

Melanie is professional, compassionate and courteous, has a very high standard of personal presentation and treats everyone she meets with the utmost respect and dignity. She has a vibrant yet down to earth personality and a great sense of ceremony and solemnity. These aspects of her character combined with a fantastic sense of humour mean that she can seamlessly intertwine formality, sobriety, and light-heartedness as appropriate.

She deals well with people of any age, from all cultures, religious backgrounds and walks of life and has the ability to set people at ease when they are under stress. She is also adept at handling demanding and/or delicate situations with care and professionalism.

Behind the scenes Melanie is efficient, organised and communicative making her very easy to deal with.

Her commitment to the community is evident in the many hours she donates to charity organisations. Melanie is an ambassador for K9 Medical Detection and NZ Riding for the Disabled, she has worked alongside Hospice, The Himalayan Trust, Breast Cancer Support, Kiera’s Angel Walk, YWCA and Sweet Louise, just to name a few.

Melanie gives freely of herself, and in turn, brings out the very best in those around her. Her warm and engaging personality, her sincerity, combined with a cheeky sense of humour make Melanie approachable and well-liked by folk from all walks of life.

Across all aspects of the craft. radio and television presenting, modelling and voice work, to live emceeing, Melanie brings warmth humour and a touch of glamour to whatever she turns her hand to.
