A long-time beauty, travel and fashion journalist who kicked off her career working internationally as a music correspondent, Helene is a passionate storyteller who loves to connect with others and share her latest discoveries, current obsessions and insights into her life as a 50-something freelance creative, model and breast cancer survivor.
Her authentic approach to life, positive ageing and mission to demystify beauty across all ages won the hearts of her thousands of followers, who look to Helene for inspiration, advice and recommendations on both her social platforms and her high-traffic website, www.mshelene.com, which has a strong beauty, style and wellness focus and enjoys an international audience in the tens of thousands.
A previous editor of The Beauty Book and New Zealand Fashion Week’s official publication, The Guide, she has been a contributor to publications such as luxury title WORLD, Simply You, NEXT, HOME magazine and Fashion Quarterly, and interviewed subjects as diverse as Beyonce, Trinny Woodall and Jimmy Choo. She has also written for several high profile Australian publications including Grazia, Australian Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and as a life-long traveller she loves showcasing the destinations she visits in print and on her social channels. She has journeyed to and lived in far flung locations across the globe, and never fails to get excited about exploring new cultures, new cuisine and sharing her newfound insights with friends and followers.
A two-time breast cancer survivor, Helene is passionate about taking every day as it comes, going easy on yourself and seeking joy where you can. She loves spending her personal time enjoying great food and wine with her friends and whānau, moving her body in her favourite Pilates and yoga studios and planning her next adventure.
And while she’s yet to master the perfect dirty martini, she’s not about to give up trying.
