Will Thomas

Inherent talent, dedication to his craft, and a whole lot of tenacity have put Will Thomas at the forefront of the New Zealand electronic music scene.

Will is one half of white-clad electronica duo SACHI, with his long-time close friend and musical/business partner, Nick Chrisp. Known for their super-catchy dance beats and brightly-coloured stage shows, SACHI have maintained a rapid trajectory to international success, ever since their debut EP received air-time from revered DJs Zane Lowe and Diplo in 2016. In hindsight, touring the world as a musician was not an entirely unpredictable career path for Will.

Musically talented from a young age, Will and his brother grew up in a creative, high-achieving family (mum is former TVNZ broadcaster Louise Pagonis, and father David Thomas is an international pilot), where his artistic abilities were encouraged, and travel featured regularly.

Will’s love of music and entertaining emerged early, when he took up the drums aged nine, and started writing songs at just 10. Will and Nick played in indie rock bands together before switching their attention to electronic music in their early teens.

Working from his bedroom from just a laptop, Will taught himself all elements of electronic music production by watching YouTube tutorials… SACHI was born not long after.

A string of hit singles; record deals and tours in front of thousands have followed; SACHI has opened for Rudimental, Six60; played festivals across Australia, NZ and the US; and performed at New York’s Panorama festival, alongside electronic music legends Dua Lipa and The Weeknd.

All these achievements have only been made with exceptional levels of hard work, which Will is no stranger to. He can – and does – work from anywhere, needing only his laptop to compose and produce music. Often on the road, and based alternately out of LA and NZ, Will is used to long hours and tight deadlines.

Will loves engaging with his online community and finding new ways to entertain them. Spending lockdown in NZ, Will decided to produce “A beat a day,” composing and posting a new piece of music every day of Isolation, which his followers lapped up.

A firm believer in the saying; “if you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life,” Will combines his career as an artist and producer with his enthusiasm for fitness and exercise. Any chance he gets, he is outdoors – with running and skiing being high priorities.

Charismatic, positive and (depending on who you ask, according to Will) funny, Will uses his platform in creative ways to connect with his followers and share his passions.

He is available for collabs with brands that dovetail with his zeal for art, music, adventuring/travel, and anything to do with environmental conservation and sustainability.
